New South Wales rebates
NSW solar and battery rebates, handled for you
Roo Solar is a Surry Hills business and New South Wales is our home turf. We check every federal and NSW incentive you qualify for, do the paperwork, and apply the value as an up-front discount on your quote — you never chase a rebate yourself.
Cheaper Home Batteries Program (federal)
From 1 July 2025 the federal battery discount cuts roughly 30% off the installed cost of an eligible home battery, up to around 50 kWh of usable capacity. Roo Solar claims it for you and shows it as a discount on your quote.
NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS)
New South Wales households that connect an eligible battery to a Virtual Power Plant can receive an additional incentive under the PDRS. It can be claimed once per battery and stacks with the federal discount.
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
Every eligible solar system in NSW creates STCs based on its size and location. We create and trade the certificates, so the value comes straight off your solar quote rather than arriving months later.
Empowering Homes & low-income support
Eligible NSW households, including pensioners and Low Income Household Rebate recipients, may qualify for extra state support towards solar. We check your eligibility before you commit to anything.

Do I need solar panels before I add a battery?
For most NSW households, yes. A battery stores surplus solar, and both the federal battery discount and the PDRS incentive assume a system that can charge the battery. We can install both together or add a battery to an existing array.
How long does an installation take?
A typical Sydney home solar install takes one day. Adding a battery usually adds half a day, plus the grid connection approval with your network provider.
Will my system keep working during a blackout?
Only if backup is designed in. Ask for blackout protection and we fit a backup gateway so essential circuits — fridge, lights, internet — stay running.
